Melody van der Wallen has over ten years of legal experience, a background in property and commercial law, and a career that has taken her through to final hearing in both parenting and property matters before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. She handles family law, criminal law and AVO matters. When a situation calls for strength, she brings it.
She is also a mother of two, and she understands the weight of what is at stake for the families she works with, particularly when children are involved. Her practice is built around Family Dispute Resolution and resolving matters outside of court wherever possible. She believes the best outcome for a family is rarely the most adversarial one, and she brings that belief into every case without compromising her ability to fight when it counts.
When she launched Wallen Family Law in 2025, she came to Grove Seven before she opened. Everything was built from scratch: brand, website, photography, video. And the brief was clear. The brand needed to hold both sides of who she is at once, the strength and the care, without softening either.
Most family law firms lead with authority. Dark palettes, formal typography, the visual language of the courtroom. That approach serves many practices well. It just was not right for Melody or for the clients she wanted to reach. We moved the palette away from legal convention, landing on a range of greens from soft mint to deep forest that speak to growth and new beginnings without sacrificing credibility. Photography avoided every expected cliche. No staged team shots, no courtroom imagery. Real families, genuine moments, natural light.
The website was designed for both experience and discovery, optimised from launch for search and AI. We produced the photography and a series of videos where Melody answers common questions in plain language, sharing glimpses into her expertise and building trust with people long before they make contact. In a sector that often hides behind jargon, that directness is rare and it shows.
Since launch, we have continued to utilise paid and earned media including Google Ads and SEO to help connect people searching for what Wallen Family Law offers with the practice.
